Publication Ethics

Cairo Studies in English (CSE) promotes research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. CSE is committed to international standards of academic integrity and publication ethics, based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (https://publicationethics.org/resources/code-conduct).

Authors can only submit original work that has not been previously published nor under review by another publication. Authors are expected to abide by submission deadlines, reviewers’ reports, as well as editorial instructions and guidelines. Submissions should adhere to the CSE Author Guidelines.

Reviewers will adhere to the CSE double-blind peer-reviewing policy, ensuring the anonymity and confidentiality of the reviewing process. Reviewing is done on a voluntary basis; reviewers will be acknowledged and receive an electronic copy of the issue they have reviewed upon its online publication. Reviewers are expected to use the Report Form provided by CSE and submit their reports within the specified time-frame

The CSE Editorial Board is committed to academic integrity and publication ethics. Calls for Papers, Author Guidelines and Reviewer Report Forms as well as Publication Ethics are visible on the CSE website. CSE does not tolerate plagiarism in the submissions. In case of plagiarism detection, the submission is immediately rejected and the author is notified.
