Aims and Scope

Cairo Studies in English (CSE) is a double-blind peer-reviewed journal of research in literature, linguistics and translation studies, issued by the Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Arts, Cairo University. Our vision for Cairo Studies in English is to ensure its accessibility as an Egyptian journal in the humanities and social sciences of international standing.

The journal is published semiannually. One issue is thematic, with guest editors invited to propose a theme and oversee the editorial process. The second issue typically features open-topic submissions and is edited by the chief editor. The journal comprises three main sections: high-quality original research papers; an "Emerging Voices" section for young scholars to share work derived from their postgraduate research; and a book review section related to the journal’s focus.
